Delaina was born in Fort Worth but moved out of the state shortly afterward and spent the next 18 years moving between 3 continents and 8 schools. She settled back in Texas when she went off to college. Delaina has a Communication Specialist degree with a Marketing focus from Baylor University. After graduation, Delaina worked in Dallas in the convention and tourism industry, planning parties and special events for corporations, conventions, and private individuals. She continued this work when she moved to San Antonio when she became engaged to her now husband 26 years ago. The following year, Delaina had the opportunity to join the Junior League. Inspired by her own family of community volunteers, she was excited to meet other people, learn about the community, and help make San Antonio a better place. Delaina served as an active member of the League for about 15 years and held a number of different fundraising jobs and several board positions, including President. As a sustainer, she has been a sustaining advisor to several councils that have continued to expand her League knowledge and experience. 

For the last 25 years, Delaina has continued to work with organizations, schools, and causes in various capacities throughout San Antonio. Her passion is working hands-on with children and groups that benefit them. Delaina has 3 teenage daughters, and her goal has been to inspire them to have a love of community and a need to help make their community a better place.
