1) Why have you decided to serve as a Trailblazer for the JLSA?

The League’s partnership with Clarity Child Guidance Center extends well before this campaign to celebrate our 95th Anniversary. I’m honored to serve as a Trailblazer for this special campaign and hope to bring awareness to the services that Clarity offers and help break the stigma associated with mental health. The mental health in children is of utmost importance and directly affects a child’s ability to be successful in school, in relationships, and within their community. Mental health knows no barriers in age, race, or socioeconomic status.

2) Who and/or what inspires you to pave a path in our community?

“To whom much is given, much shall be required.” Luke 12:48

God and my faith are what inspire me to be a community leader. My service in the community began at a very early age when I helped my grandmother’s church group at their Sunday morning breakfasts. Throughout my parochial education, importance was stressed on the responsibility to give back to the community and perform acts of service. The preservation of family is an important focus for my volunteer work. The mental health of a child can directly affect the family unit. Clarity provides hope and support for the parents and families of children with behavioral or emotional issues. Healthy families support healthy communities. I hope you will join me in raising awareness and funds for this important campaign!
