Gilbert S. Gonzalez currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®. Having called San Antonio “home” for most of his life he enjoys this position that allows him to support entrepreneurs who work to make home ownership a reality. Having worked at the association for eight years he appreciates the ability to be part of an organization that helps to build our community. Prior to working at SABOR Gilbert worked for Bexar County. His first position was serving as an assistant district attorney working in the various divisions including felony, major crimes, and family violence. After five years in the courtroom, he transitioned to a staff attorney position supporting the work of the various County Courts.

Prior to entering law school, Gilbert worked at the Office of the Press Secretary for the White House. Starting off as an intern right out of college he rose the ranks becoming a presidential staffer ultimately serving as the deputy director of specialty press.

Truly born and raised in San Antonio, he received both his undergraduate degree and law degree from St. Mary’s University.

He enjoys spending all his free time watching his two daughters, Stella and Julia, grow with the help and support of his wife Belinda.

Why have you decided to serve as a Trailblazer for the JLSA?

The work that the Clarity Child Guidance Center does to provide support to adolescents in our community is paramount. With children under greater pressures than ever before and suffering from anxiety at younger ages I feel having a resource that provides support to families in need is central to building stronger young adults.

Who and/or what inspires you to pave a path in our community (be a community leader/participant)?

As native San Antonian, I cannot be prouder to have been born and raised in this town. I appreciate everything this city has done for me and will always look for opportunities to give back and make this a better community for family and for all who call it home.
